Ok, so here's the poll.

We're considering switching forum styles to something that is in-line integrated with the rest of the site. Which would mean it would be a little more simple and easier to use for *everyone*. It would also mean that we would lose the game section and the calendar.

Before we went any furhter, we wanted to get everyone's opinion on this because we want to do what is best for the community.

    Please voice your opinion :)

I sure will miss the games:( but if it makes the forums a lot easier to use then i think it's a good idea.

I think having a more integrated feel would be better in that the forum would then be more part of the site rather than an offshoot. At the moment I think of the site and the forum as separate entities. I'm not sure what anyone thinks, but perhaps changing the forum style would incoporate it more into the site. Just wondering, what is it about the new system that would require the loss of games & calendar? Also, how smooth do you anticipate the changeover would be?

We're going to be changing over to an application called Vanilla. They don't have a plugin for any arcades or a calendar yet, so they won't be available. We're hoping to make the transition seamless. One moment: oh hey, vB. Next moment: oh hey, Vanilla. Probably the only change is you might have to re-login.

It will also change URLs to /community/ instead of being a completely different sub-domain of our main site. It will be completely integrated into our main site as well so that it feels and looks like the main site. It will be easier to use because it will be a little more simple. If we get enough requests, we'll create an offshoot arcade page for people to use, but it wouldn't be nearly as integrated as it currently is. There will be just be some small changes, but we think it will be better for everyone.

We decided it would be best to move forward with the change. We'll be making another announcement when we're getting closer to releasing the new feature of the site. Thanks everyone!

We're getting close to switching over to the new forum, so keep your eyes open in the next week or so to see some changes :)
