I wouldn't call myself a 'fan' of their music, but I do enjoy it. While it does have its place on my iPod, it's still a bit hard for me to listen to casually. My favorite artist right now is Tyrone Wells, a local artist that is with an indie record label, but he's touring the USA this year. Keep your eyes open for him if you see him around ( www.myspace.com/tyronewells ). I saw him in concert last Saturday and I have personal ties to him as a close friend. He just released a new CD (Sorry to take over the thread a little bit hehe). But on the end note, Underoath is pretty good, just not a regular listen for me.

haha thats ok it is free discussion so....anyways. So you're more of a contemporary(sp?)/poppy/indieish guy. Its funny how you said that you can't listen to underoath casually because Im like the exact opposite. I mean I like contemporary stuff and all but after a while im like "ok thats enough of that..." but i did check out that tyrone wells guy. He has a nice sound. very soulful =)

Yeah, I'm more of an indie/acoustic/poppish kind of guy. I like the hard stuff, but only in doses and I can't have too much of it. Some of the hard stuff I like is Thrice, Underoath, Blindside (whom I've met), Crossfade, Nural, and Pillar. That's about as hard as I get, I'm not really a fan at all of Project 86. I mainly just like to be able to easily understand the lyrics so I can process what the words are saying and think through them

Wow you met blindside?!? wow i would probably faint lol. no not really but thats still really cool.

Yeah, I've met Blindside, Shaun Groves, The Afters, Nate Sallie, Downhere, and I have Shawn McDonald, Kutless (I have a friend in this band), and hopefully a couple other bands too -- at Spirit West Coast. I won a contest to meet Blindside and I saw their show with Trapt at the Avalon in Hollywood. I get around with artists because of the music production news I do on the side.

Hehe, thanks. Nawww I just work for myself really. Sound Grid Entertainment is what the site is called and I just release Christian music news on it. Nothing more really..I just know how to get the interviews and I end up meeting a lot of artists.

You must have some really good people skills if you as an independent reporter can set up your own interviews with people that have actually accomplished stuff and not someone no one knows that you just happened to find lol....thats pretty impressive. Congratulations you get a pat on the back =). Wow we're just hogging up this whole thread thing we our little on going conversation eh?

Hehe thank you. I was raised well and I feel I'm pretty good with people now. My dad had a big influence on that, but I was actually just listening to Underoath a little bit ago. I'm listening to some Safri Duo now though, some good drum mixes.... while trying to fight off this computer virus I picked up *shrug*. It's fun and it's good life experience for me (the interview stuff, not the virus lol)

:) Do you ever feel kinda star struck talking to all of these famous muscians? I think I would...I mean one time i got to talk to the female singer of flyleaf, Lacey, (well more like her saying hi and me just staring at her in amazement) and i could have thrown up. lol. whos safri duo? I've never heard of them before. Am i getting on your nerves...bombarding you with all these questions about your life? haha

Hehe, not really. To me, famous people are still, in the end, just people. They are no more than you or I, they just are known by more people, that's all really. Safri Duo isn't really well known, just a small band I like to listen to once in a while. I like meeting the artists, but in the end, they are still just people. Go for it, I love questions, I'm here to answer as best as possible :)
