Should the pastor have the right to tell people not to come back to church anymore? My pastor came here almost 2 yrs ago, and he has changed everything, told people not to come back, and a lot of other things...but i dont think it is right. is it? or is it not???

    Good question. Tough question.

On one hand i would instantly say "no! where's forgiveness in that? If you won't let them in the church, where will they hear of God?"

However, i can (in some situations) see the other side of it. If a person is being repeatedly disruptive, and has been talked to on numerous occasions and won't change things... well... it's a tough decision.

I will say though, that if a new pastor comes into a church, he should not change things dramatically without the support of the existing members. That is disrespectful.
If he/she does not agree with current teaching at that church, then they should find a different church to pastor at, or start their own.

A problem does come in when the pastor has been there seemingly forever, and then has a revelation (whether correct or not) and thus wants to change things dramatically. He is the pastor, he is responsible for what's being shared; and it's his responsibility to preach what he believes is from God.
However, the rest of the congregation may not support his new view..
    What do you do there?

they came in and changed things, and now people are stopping to come to church, while others are getting yelled at and leaving. i really dont have much say in what the church members decide, cuz im 17, but i dont think anything is right that he is doing.

i didnt go to youth for a year and a half, and the youth pastor, who is the pastors wife, never said one thing about it. she doesnt care whether anyone goes or not, i guess. and no one really likes her. she used to say that more people would come to the youth group, we used to have 25 kids, and now we are down to 4 regular people. right now, i am just going cuz she asked me to b in the youth easter program, but after this sunday, i wont go to youth anymore. and since the pastor had the couple banned from the church, i dont even know if i want to go anymore.

when will they stop treating us like this? probably never, and if he ever yelled at me for doing something, i know i would say a couple cuss words, and yell back at him....but idk wat will happen now

True Christianlity is non-denominational. Its Gods place to judge. id say your pastor needs to step off his pedestal, and let someone who is going to be a beacon of hope, and not fear; take the stand and talk about the love of God
