I read my bible (not as often as i wish i could/would though). It gives me insight into God, has good and uplifting message, i can learn alot about God from it. It is a very good thing to read as a Christian, especially considering it is "God's word" (written).
Ever have those questions about God? About who he is, where we stand in respect to him? The bible answers many of them.

I LOVE TO READ MY BIBLE! After I wake up and fix my cup of coffee, I head off to my favorite sofa where I pick up my favorite study Bible and begin reading. Sometimes I spend an hour or maybe up to 3 hours reading, taking notes, and trying to "fit it all together" in my mind. Not an easy book, but the most worth-while reading of all. I have read through the Bible in its entirety many, many times...lost track, but probably once every 1 to 1-1/2 yrs. I have been doing this since I became a born-again Christian on February 18, 1976. The more I read it, from cover to cover, the more I understand the history and the message God is conveying to us. Over and over in the Old Testament, He tells the children of Israel how to "offer animal sacrifices" for their sins, but they had to "continually" offer sacrifices, from year to year. But we read in the New Testament that the blood of all the animals in the world cannot atone for our sins! That is why God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ! He came to take our place on Calvary's cross, paying our sin debt by shedding His perfect, innocent blood. He is called the Lamb of God. When we accept His shed blood as an offering for our own sins, GOD SAVES US! HE CLEANSES US OF ALL OUR SIN...past, present and future! "For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is a "gift" of God. Not of works lest any man should boast!" It is not by our righteousness, but by His righteousness we are now saved! HE FORGIVES US OF ALL OUR SIN AND PROMISES NEVER TO HOLD THEM AGAINST US AGAIN! When I would read the Bible before I became a believer, I didn't understand what I read. After I trusted Him as my Savior, it was like the scales were removed from my eyes! I had a life-changing experience! I now understand! Not that I understand everything, but I continue to "grow" as I daily read His word, meditate upon it, and allow Him to have control of my life. I'm His child! The Bible tells me that He adopts us into His family, we become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ! What an humbling thought! When He saved me, I was saved from the penalty of sin. While I continue to walk in this flesh, He gives me power over sin. But when I die and am ushered into Heaven, I will be free from the presence of sin. JESUS IS THE ANSWER, and when we read His word, His love letter to us, our faith grows as well as our love for HIM. We have to turn from ourself and turn to Jesus, trusting Him ONLY. "No man comes to the Father but by Me."

Hi there. I love reading my bible daily, as it gives me something to ponder during those unhurried times when I am alone with my thoughts & God.
I got saved in the spring of 1982 and have read at least a chapter a day every day since... with the exception of a couple of times when in the hospital for one thing or another.
I read it so that I have the word hidden in my heart and can tell if a person really has a personal relationship with the Lord or is faking it... & the same goes for preachers... if what they're saying does or does not line up with the word of God, that gives me an idea of how to treat the rest of their message.
Plus...... I rock @ bible trivia games :)
