I'm a big music lover of all kinds and styles. I recently rededicated my life to Christ after a ten year backslide. Now I'm having a hard time finding some good music. I know what secular music I like but I'm lost when it comes to Christian music. I like Rock jazzy funk with a splash of retro groove and so much more but that basiclly describes my taste. To name a few secular bands: I like The Strokes, Weezer, Red hot chili pepers, Incubus, Audio slave, Rage against the machine, and Jet (not in that order). But, for now if someone could Please direct me to some good music along the lines of the mentiond bands!!!
These are some of my favorites that I can think of right now.....
Kutless - Promise Of A Lifetime, Sea Of Faces, Treason, Strong Tower, Run, All The Words Leeland - Sound Of Melodies David Crowder Band - O Praise Him (All This For A King), No One Like You, Wholly Yours Casting Crowns - Who Am I, Lifesong, Praise You In The Storm Flyleaf - Flyleaf (The Full Album) Skillet - Comatose (The Full Album) and Savior Pillar - FrontLine Building 429 - Glory Defined, You Carried Me Seventh Day Slumber - Missing Pages Jonah 33 - This Is You Instead Of Me, Desensitized Jeremy Camp - This Man, Take You Back Relient K - Be My Escape, Who I am Hates Who I've Been Rush Of Fools - Undo Starfield - My Generation Disciple - After The World Mainstay - These Pages Jars Of Clay - Liquid, Love Song For A Savior, Worlds Apart Red - Breath Into Me Fireflight - You Decide
I would have a hard time believing that Creed should be considered Christian. I do believe that some of their members have Christian beliefs, but I personally can't believe that they have Christian values in their lyrics.
You are right Jonathan. I can't imagine they sing their songs out of love for the Lord. I just mentioned them because a few years ago Christian radio stations played a few of their songs. Thanks and God Bless. Eva
Really good Christian rock, I'd go with Skillet. There's a lot of good bands out there, but Skillet has an amazing sound. They're really loud and head-bangy, but at the same time everything is very musical. I think the background strings make a big difference. Check out their song Rebirthing ;)
yeah Rebirthing is awsome..its on the album Comatose..which also has a song called Comatose wich sounds a lot like Rebirthing..only the idea is opposite
OH and if you're looking for softer rock (cuz we all do sometimes) go with Mainstay. They're new album (which I just recieved 2 days ago in the mail) is AMAZING. *walks away humming random songs from Become Who You Are*
Lol. I actually only knew of two Chrisitan rock bands (switchfoot and P.O.D.) until last fall :P That's when I started listening to the radio a lot, lol.
you should try skillet superchick disiple haste the day shawn mcdonald kutless relient k ACCEPTANCE SO ROCKS blindside hillsongs kids in the way DEAD POETIC jeremy camp building 429 sumthing lik tht switchfoot
So many of who i listen to have already been said... But, if you like some of the heavier music as well, i would recommend Tourniquet (They also have a nice acoustic album. Well, i like it), or if you like alittle heavy with short soft bits, i would recommend Demon Hunter..
Other than that, off the top of my head i can't think of any others i personally like that haven't been said.
